Reiki Plus®

Reiki Plus® is a system of healing that is based upon the principles of reiki techniques that work to positively direct energy around the human body. Developed by David Jarrell, Reiki Plus® combines the techniques that promote balance through stress relief and relaxation with a heightened awareness of the spiritual aspect of applying Reiki techniques. Reiki Plus® is taught in three degrees. Jarrell first began teaching the principles of Reiki Plus® in 1981, based upon his own experiences in the practice of Reiki.

The techniques of Reiki Plus® can be applied in order to heal yourself, or can be learned by massage therapy students to apply to patients. Because most patients will not have the time or interest to go through the intensive three degrees of Reiki Plus® training, the techniques associated are most often used by trained therapists caring for their patients.

The first degree of Reiki Plus® training involves basic teachings on how to access the human body as well as the mind to help promote overall healing and well being. This area introduces the idea of manipulating energy around the human body in order to reap the benefits of improved flow, such as in improved stamina as well as the banishment of physical disabilities.

The second degree of Reiki Plus® training ventures into the realm of the metaphysical. While the first degree depends largely on physical contact between the practitioner and the patient, the second degree of Reiki Plus® training instead focuses on the ability to positively impact a patient’s energy flow from a distance. In this training, massage therapy students learn how to focus their own energies to positively impact the energy of another life force. In addition, ancient symbols related to healing are studied as students learn how to use them to increase the healing experienced by a patient. Within this degree of training, students are also taught how to connect with their patients’ minds in order to guide those patients in techniques that release stressors and ailments from their bodies.

In the third degree of Reiki Plus® training, students learn how to focus their talents as a practitioner in order to make Reiki Plus® sessions more beneficial to their patients. In addition, this degree helps students to understand how better to provide overall services to their patients and how to teach their patients to experience heightened health through consistent practice of Reiki techniques.

During classes for all three degrees of Reiki Plus® training, students go through both lecture-based learning as well as experiential learning. Practical applications of techniques are taught so that students understand intimately the practices that they will use in helping to bring relief to their patients. After students finish their formal training, there are continued opportunities for them to connect with other Reiki practitioners in order to discuss techniques and heighten the awareness of how to best aid in the healing of patients.
